Tippy Toes Ballet co-founders Emma and Nicola became best friends over 20 years ago. They met one day in ballet class whilst practising their plies at the barre and went on to pirouette around the world as professional dancers. There is no better way to share a passion than with a true friend, and whatever they say about not mixing friendship with business just doesn't seem to apply to them!
Tippy Toes Ballet was born in September 2011 when Nicola and Emma both felt it was time to pass on all that they had learnt and loved when they were younger. The joy that they get from dance is always there, and to help children find that joy is priceless.
Both Emma & Nicola gained scholarships to The Dance School of Scotland, a full time vocational dance school affiliated with the Scottish Ballet where they achieved major exams with the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (I.S.T.D). They then went on to complete their dance and teacher training at the acclaimed Laine Theatre Arts, London.
After graduating, they both went their separate ways to pursue their successful professional dance careers, each lasting over 12 years. They danced in musicals and shows in the West End and throughout the UK. They were also lucky enough to travel the world whilst performing in theatres internationally.
Nicola and Emma bring together a wealth of experience and expertise from their training and respective careers. This uniquely designed program at Tippy Toes Ballet comes from these two innovative and passionate women, whose aim is to create a love of ballet in as many children as possible.
