Yolanda (Yollie) took her first ballet class at the age of 4 and has loved dancing ever since. She began studying The Cecchetti Method of Classical Ballet with The Monzani School of Dance in Buckinghamshire and, at 11, won High March School’s annual Monzani Dance Award.
As she moved onto secondary school, Yollie started training in other styles of dance, such as Modern, Jazz and Tap, and also began learning The Royal Academy of Dance syllabi. She held the title of Ballet Captain at Wycombe Abbey School in 2018, which gave her the opportunity to choreograph and teach a dance to younger students for the school’s yearly dance show.
After completing her Grade 8 RAD exam, Yollie went on to university. She holds a BA Hons Degree in Architecture from UAL: Central Saint Martin’s College and is currently working toward an MA in Comparative Literature from University College London. Alongside her studies, Yollie has kept up with her dancing, attending regular classes in Ballet, Tap and Contemporary hosted by her universities’ dance societies. Yollie has also obtained Grade 8 qualifications in Music and Drama and is a member of the National Youth Theatre. She has previously been offered a role as a dancer in a production with a London theatre company.
